F.A.Q.

Are Children Welcome?

Yes! We look forward to welcoming guests of all ages to our special day, but please do keep in mind your kiddo’s tolerance for sitting still and being quiet during the very short period when that is requested during the ceremony. Additionally there is no separate “kid’s menu” being served with dinner.

Where is your Gift Registry?

We deeply appreciate your interest in gifting us something to celebrate our wedding, however, your presence is gift enough. Therefore, we are requesting no gifts. If you still wish to contribute something, please consider a donation to some of our local charities that mean a lot to us:

  • The Lexington Humane Society supports animal rescue, welfare, and adoption efforts in the Lexington Area,
  • The DanceBlue Golden Matrix Fund supports pediatric cancer research and patients. Thanks to DanceBlue’s fundraising, most pediatric cancer patients seen at UK Healthcare do not pay anything for their treatment.

Parking

There are a limited number of paved parking spots around the venue. However, plenty of overflow parking in the grass is available.

Please note that the parking area for the Round Barn connects to the Red Mile parking lot. Parking in the Red Mile lot is not allowed.

Accessibility

The ceremony and reception are at ground level and are be fully accessible to anyone with limited mobility. There is a second floor area accessible only by stairs but this will not be used as part of the ceremony or reception.

What is the Weather Usually Like?

The average weather in Lexington towards the end of August is typically warm and dry in Lexington. The historic average is a high of 85°F and low of 63°F, but with how variable Kentucky weather can be, it is not uncommon to be ten degrees hotter or colder, or for a line of thunderstorms to pop up!

The venue will be air conditioned. The ceremony will be held outside, weather permitting, but the reception will be indoors.
